Steven Alexander Wright was born in December 6, 1955 in Burlington, Massachusetts. He had a rather uneventful childhood, and made the slow dues paying climb through the ranks of the stand up comedy scene in Boston and New York City. In 1985, he released his first album, I have a Pony which was nominated for a Grammy for best comedy album of the year. In 1988, Wright coauthored and starred in a short film entitled, The Appointments of Dennis Jennings. The film won the Academy Award for best short film.
